More Antarctic 2018-2019 Offers

Hi Simon,

Here are some more 2018/2019 examples for Antarctica for the late Jan/Feb period. We're sending these through quite frequently now, as the deals on offer won't last more than a few more weeks.

These examples are mid-range vessels offering a slightly higher level of furnishing than the pure expedition ships but maintaining the on-ice activity focus.

The thing to understand about these departures is that the late season deals for 2018 are generally on:

  • The higher priced premium cabins (which sell more slowly);
  • Shoulder seasons (the less popular trips); and
  • The availability of options such as ice-camping, kayaking etc., is limited (these are only available to a proportion of customers and are already fully booked).

Flights by this time have increased in price by about $1,000pp and will go up even further over the next few months. Add-ons such as Patagonia will also be more limited, with only the higher priced rooms available and some possibly sold out. So the benefits of a late season deal are fairly limited, unless you are really want a high priced cabin deal and are willing to go at the drop of a hat.

By comparison, look at the 2019 options. The standard cabins are available and once you factor in flights and other add-ons, it's a lot more cost-effective to book early - for a couple twin share you could be looking at $2,500 of trip savings and when you add in late-minute airfare penalties, at least another $2,000, possibly more.

Remember, this is only a selection and we advise every enquiry specifically, based on your interests and needs.

Best wishes and safe travels,
